What we do
The Fact-Makers of the Netherlands: we unravel trends, dive into statistics, and craft clear stories about the state of the nation. It's complex work, but above all, it's relevant. In a country full of opinions, we focus on the facts. Statistics Netherlands (CBS) collects, analyzes, and publishes data about the Netherlands. From the economy to energy, from employment to well-being. We provide reliable facts that aid in decision-making, policy development, and understanding societal issues.
Working at CBS
At CBS, we work with around 2,000 colleagues from our offices in The Hague, Heerlen, and Bonaire. CBS provides information on major societal issues such as climate change and poverty through statistics. We contribute to society by presenting facts. Each year, we conduct approximately 600 studies. This means we release a statistic along with a news report almost daily. These generate about 75,000 articles in newspapers and on news websites. Our information can be found on the CBS website and in the StatLine database, which contains over 4,000 tables with a total of around 14 billion figures. All this information is available to everyone.
